My Letter to HHV (Howick Historical Village)

Panmure Bridge School
76 Kings Rd
Panmure

Thursday 11 July

Dear Howick Historical VIllage,

Thank you for letting us visit your village. It was nice to see all about Panmure`s history.  I personally liked the classroom with Mrs White and learning all about the old currency. It was funny when she was talking about our fingernails.

My second favourite was the outside games. I like the one that was all about the devil. I also liked the stilts. It took a while to get used to it, but in the end I got the hang of it. Another favourite was the horses/ponies. It was fun to ride on them.

The part where we went exploring in the indoor games for new toys was fun. I like the Jacobs ladder and how when you put a man on the top, it came down back to you. The other favourite was the one where you could pull the strings and you had to pull the cat.

The tour at the end of the experience was amazing. I liked the water pump and how some people got to pull the bucket up from the well. There were some physical activities and visual activities. I hope we go back there someday.

Yours sincerely,

Quaid

Essay - Persuasive Argument

Why should we have to come to school so early?
We should be able to sleep for the 8 hour average and with other work priorities we do not get the sleep we need. A researcher Otago unitec, did a study that pointed out 40% of children do get enough sleep and the other 60 percent don't get enough sleep.

Students do not like to come to school early, thats why I think it should change. The school should have the start time later so that we can sleep in and get a proper rest. We should come to school later in the day to have a rest because otherwise our brains will be tired. We need our 8 hour average sleep and at the moment we are not getting it.

Starting school later, will give the teachers a longer period of time to sort our tasks for our education. It will also help our learning. This is a good reason not to come to school so early. It will also make a bigger bond with our parents, by staying with them longer. It does not matter if with start late and finish late or , what most student will want, start late and finish early.

Here is a quick message to all teachers and Principals. Please let us finish and start school later. If you get to have the sleep recommended, Why can’t we aswell.
