Medal Winning Sports Graph- By Quaid

This is the graph I made. I made it about all of the sports that we have been good at and won medals. I think that rowing is Popular because we might be a water country and we are surrounded by water. I think that Sailing is the second most popular because it is also about water. I think that we did very well and I can`t wait until the next Olympics.

New Zealand Medal Table Tally graph By Quaid

This is the Medal Table Tally graph I made on New Zealand. They did very well because of their attitude and by not giving up. We won 6 Gold medals, 2 Silver Medals and 5 Bronze Medals. I think we did very well and I want to be just like them when I grow up.

New Zealand Medal Tally graph By Quaid

This is the New Zealand Medal Tally graph that we made about the medal tally count. Most of our medals were won in Rowing. I like how the New Zealand Athlete's still tried their best even if they knew they weren't going to get a Medal.

My Olympic Graph - By Quaid

This is the Medal tally I made about the Olympics. I gathered data and then I put all into a graph. U.S.A came first in the Medal count with 47 gold medals, 29 silver medals and also 29 bronze medals. I think that they did well because of their attitude and population. China came in second place with 38 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 23 bronze medals. I think that they got lots of medals because they also don`t give up and they have a very big country which gives them a very big population. Great Britain came third with 29 gold medals, 17 silver medals and 19 bronze medals. Like U.S.A and China they did very good also with their population and their attitude. New Zealand came fifteenth in the medal count with 6 Gold medals, 2 Silver Medals and 5 Bronze medals. I think that all of the countries did very well.

My Questions on the Olympics By Quaid

This term we are learning all about the Olympics. Miss Paton asked us to make some questions on the Olympics. Here are My questions.

My Report on Valarie Kasanita Adams - By Quaid

My Report on Valerie Kasanita Adams

Valerie Adams is a very famous shot putter. She has won many gold medals at the Olympics and has broken many world records.

Valerie Kasanita Adams was born on the 6th October 1984 in Rotorua, New Zealand. She had a Tongan mother Lalika Ngauamo and an English father Sydney Adams. She is a member of the church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Valerie has several brothers including a star basketball player Steven Adams.

Valerie was noticed at school by her P.E teacher how she has a lot of strength. Also she was very shy but she was very good at basketball. When Valerie was 15, in 1999 she competed in her first World Youth Championships in shot-put, finishing in tenth place.

Sadly in 1998 Lilika (Valerie`s Mum) was diagnosed with cancer. The next year she died in hospital. Many people knew that Lilika was an inspiration to Valerie. The next couple of years, Valerie tried her best in shot-put and she tried hard not to let this tragedy get in the way of her life.

Valerie competed in a lot of events like at the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games. Valerie won gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. She won gold at the 2008 Beijing Games. She also won gold at the the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In Jamaica she threw a shotput 17.73 metres. She won silver at the Manchester Commonwealth Games.

Valerie is a very strong shot putter and she will continue to make New Zealand proud. There is no doubt that she will break more world  records!
