On my Popplet there's Pictures and Videos along with the Celebrations. The green framed boxes are Indian Festivals. The Red framed boxes are the New Zealand Festivals. The Blue framed boxes are the Nationwide Festivals. The Orange boxes are the Christian festivals. The pink framed box is the Niuien festival. The grey box is the Afghanistan festival. The Black box is the Chinese Festival.

 My Art

My Art is about Neil Armstrong. In my picture there is and Earth and a Sun. As you can see the sun has a very strong effect on the earth and the earth has lots of clouds. Most people who draw earth don't have clouds but if they don't have clouds there would be no rain and if there is no rain we would die. I like picture because it is very detailed.

Hello Miss Paton

I can not believe that it has been 2 weeks since you left New Zealand. I hope you are having fun on your trip.

We are having a great time with Mr Blackmore. He has taught us easier ways to figure out our times tables, he has taught us new game called Fly and we are learning about space again by making a timeline. 

Last week a group of kids went to a soccer tournament and guess what, the year 6 group came 1st ! You should checkout the class Blog and then you check out my timeline.

My Baron Pierre De Coubertin Report- By Quaid

   My Baron Pierre De Coubertin  Report.

  

Baron Pierre de Coubertin was born on 1st January 1863 in Paris, France. He was responsible for reviving the Olympic games.

He was born into a very rich and aristocratic family. He was the fourth child in his family. His father was an artist and his paintings were displayed in Paris salons. His relationship with his parents was some what strained.

In 1894 he went to Law School and pulled out one year later. He went onto study in another department and went onto study Science and Politics. He had an interest in Sports and Education Systems. In 1883 he went to observe the Education system in England. In the 1880`s he encouraged sporting competitions in schools in Paris. He formed a committee designed to be responsible for Physical Education in Paris.

He was the first president for the International Olympic committee. Before he became a president he presented in conference`s sharing his beliefs, visions and plans in bringing back the Olympic Games.

In 1895 he had married Marie Rothan and they had several happy and successful years. But years later their relationship also became strained after what happened.

Baron`s son became retarded after his parents left him in the sun too long when he was a little child. Baron`s daughter suffered emotional disturbances, never married, and never found peace in her life. Baron`s wife and him kept blaming each other for what happened to their birth children. Baron died while walking in a park in Geneva on 2 September 1937.

Baron is a good person and if it weren`t for him we wouldn`t have the Olympic games! He will be best remembered for bringing countries and nations together to play sport.

Print Making Reflection

1. Are you pleased with your prints? Why / Why not?
Yes. Because it has lots of effects and light and dark colours.

2. What is your favourite print and why? Crayon Rubbing, Crayon and Dye, Dry Ink and Wet Ink

Dry Ink and Wet Ink because it was fun using the roller and the inks.

3. What is your least favourite print and why?
Crayon because it wasn`t colourful.

4. What did you find easy?
Using the roller and the inks

5. What did you find hard?
Cutting out the silhouette.

6. What would you do differently next time?
Work faster and press the crayon harder.

7. Who / What has helped you in the printmaking process?
Miss Paton with the silhouette.

8. What is something you have learnt from printmaking?
How to use a roller and dye proppely.
