How to use the contents page to research effectively

The table of contents lists the chapters and other main parts of the book.  It is helpful because it gives you a general idea about the book so you know which chapters apply to your research.  Below is an example from a book about the moon.

Table of Contents

I know someone - Quaid

I know someone...
I know someone who can
successfully make a batch of brownies
with one hand on one foot.
I know someone who is
a pair of springs
because he jumps so high.
I know someone who can
sneak cookies out of a jar
without anyone knowing.
I know someone who can
climb up a post like a monkey
to get a better view.
I know someone who can
make an elephant out of their hands.
I know someone who can
flip their eyelid inside out.
And that someone is
ME!
